Frequently Asked Questions about the transition to Pearson VUE
Why do I have two accounts with Pearson VUE?
With transitioning to Pearson VUE, candidates have access to a web account with Pearson VUE providing access to their exam information, including the ability to produce score reports, exam
scheduling and cancellation. Candidates also have access to
Candidate Manager which allows them to view, update their personal information, print certifications, and publish their
credentials to employers. These are two separate systems but allow candidates the opportunity to have easier access to their exam information.
Why is SAS changing its exam delivery partner to Pearson VUE?
SAS Global Certification is transitioning its exam delivery to Pearson VUE to provide more efficient service for customers, partners and
employees. This move will enhance exam accessibility through the use of advanced registration and delivery technologies and will improve exam security.
When will this change happen?
December 1, 2012 was the official transition date.
Who is Pearson VUE?
Pearson VUE provides computer-based testing for information technology, academic,
government and professional testing programs around the world. Pearson VUE provides a full suite of testing-industry services and delivers exams through a
comprehensive and secure network of test centers in 175 countries. Pearson VUE is a business of Pearson (NYSE: PSO; LSE: PSON), the international media
company, whose businesses include the Financial Times Group, Pearson Education and the Penguin Group.
Are there any changes to the admission process for SAS Global Certification exam takers?
The admission process when taking SAS Global Certification exams at a Pearson VUE site will include enhanced security measures. In addition to the current
identification and admission requirements, examinees will be photographed and asked to provide a digital signature. The photograph and signature will
become a permanent part of each candidate's certification record and photos taken during the admission process will be printed on score reports. All
candidate data will be securely stored and protected by Pearson VUE and SAS and will not be shared with other parties.
What are the benefits of capturing digital photos and signatures?
This initiative will help ensure that SAS Global Certification credentials maintain their integrity and value within the marketplace. Employers will have
increased assurance that the person presenting a SAS credential is the same individual who took the exam.
Will my SAS certification history be preserved?
Yes, your SAS Global Certification history will be preserved. If you are currently on a SAS certification path and have completed SAS exams through
Prometric, your status will carry over to Pearson VUE automatically.
