A: We offer a 50% discount off exam fees to employees, educators, teachers, students, faculty and staff associated with academic institutions, school districts, and other education-related agencies. To receive the discount, we request that a letter on university letterhead with the department head's or other administrator's signature be provided to us as proof of your affiliation. A copy of a student transcript with the current semester and/or a student id with expiration date and/or staff ID are also accepted. We reserve the right to ask for additional information if needed for verification.

Please FAX proof to 919-677-4444 (Attention: SAS Certification) or provide an electronic copy via e-mail to certification@sas.com. Please include your e-mail address with your faxed request. Upon receipt and verification, a 50%-off voucher will be e-mailed to you. Vouchers are valid for approximately 6 weeks and cannot be extended, so being prepared to take the exam when a voucher is requested is advised. Only one discount voucher is available per request. Vouchers are non-transferrable and must be used by the individual who applies for the discount.

A: Each exam challenges candidates to apply specific knowledge they have acquired through SAS software training and/or job experience. Computer-based in format, SAS Global certification exams are comprised of approximately 60 to 70 multiple-choice and/or short-answer questions, depending on the exam. Exams are generally scheduled through Pearson VUE but are also held at various locations throughout the globe on a prescheduled basis. Candidates are allotted varying time limits to complete the exam, depending on which exam is taken. Specific exam content and passing criteria are located within each exam. To assure your feedback, SAS Global Certification exams include a feature that allows candidates to comment on specific test questions. Your opinions are important to us and are a critical component in test development.

Additionally, SAS Global Certification requires candidates to accept the terms of the SAS Institute Inc. Certification Program Agreement before taking a certification exam.

A: To help candidates prepare for exams, SAS offers a broad curricula of instructor-based training, Live Web classes, and e-learning courses. Information on exam preparation options are listed on the exam preparation tab within each exam.

A: Sample questions are available for production exams and illustrate the types of multiple choice and short answer questions that may appear on SAS Global Certification exams.

A: Yes, practice exams are available for purchase on these selected exams:

• SAS Certification Practice Exam: Base Programming for SAS 9
• SAS Certification Practice Exam: Advanced Programming for SAS 9
• SAS Certification Practice Exam: Predictive Modeling Using SAS Enterprise Miner.

A: Within North America and India, the current fee associated with each exam attempt is $180 USD, except for the Predictive Modeling exam. The Predictive Modeling Using SAS Enterprise Miner exam fee is $250 USD and is only offered through SAS.

A: The SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 credential is a prerequisite to obtaining the SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 credential. If you do not hold a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 credential prior to taking and passing the SAS Advanced Programming for SAS 9 exam, the SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 credential will not be awarded until the prerequisite has been met.

A: Please allow 1 week after achieving your credential for your name to be added to the registry. If your name is not appearing on the registry, you may choose to be added by updating your personal information within your account in the SAS Certification Records Management system.

A: You will need to contact Pearson VUE, our testing administrator. Pearson VUE verifies all candidate information based on the identification provided when registering for an exam. To ensure the security of your personal account, candidates will be required to provide legal documentation to validate your name change. Acceptable items of documentation must show the current name as well as the new name.

A: To update your demographic information you will be able to access SAS Certification Records Management and update your information. This change will be effective within 24 hours.

A: Candidates may attempt each certification exam up to five (5) times in a 12-month period, waiting a minimum of 14 days between attempts. Exam charges are incurred for each exam attempt. Exams that do not comply with this retake policy will be considered invalid and will not be eligible for refund and/or a certification credential. Once a passing score is achieved on a specific exam, no further attempts are allowed on that exam.

A: After you earn a SAS Credential, your certificate will be available on the SAS Certification Records Management system. Candidates receive an e-mail containing information on accessing this system. If you have not received your e-mail within one week from the date you earned your SAS credential, please contact us at certification@sas.com.

Within SAS Certification Records Management system, your certificate can be accessed on the left navigation bar under "Printable Documents." To print your certificate, your pop-up blocker should be disabled before clicking the "Print Now" button. Click on "Print Now" and your certificate will open in a new window where you can download and/or print.

A: After you earn a SAS Credential, your logo will be available on the SAS Certification Records Management system. Candidates receive an e-mail containing information on accessing this system. A: The SAS Global Certification Program now issues versioned credentials that do not expire. For example, if you earn the SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 credential, you will retain this credential and it will not expire. Please note: Some exams may retire as new software is developed and/or enhanced.

In previously released exams, there were some non-versioned SAS credentials that had a 3-year expiration date. We no longer offer non-versioned credentials. All SAS credentials that were non-versioned have expired. These include

• SAS Certified Developer V8.

These credentials are still valid for the specified version.
